This month’s meeting of Sligo County Council will hear calls for increased funding on roads that form part of the Wild Atlantic Way.
The motion seeks to ensure that roads to viewing points are maintained in a way that allows safe movement of tourists, farmers and local traffic throughout the year.
The Wild Atlantic Way has been a hugely successful tourism initiative, which can provide the council an opportunity to capitalise on its popularity for long-term local improvements.
