There's concern that while efforts are being made to meet targets for social housing in Sligo are ongoing, it's not moving at a fast enough pace to deal with the vast waiting list.
111 dwellings for social housing have so far been delivered by Sligo County Council this year while other projects are in the pipeline for the year ahead.

But Cllr Thomas Healy says the lack of affordable housing in the county is also a serious issue and he feels not enough is being done on the ground to help the so-called squeezed middle.
He says that's extremely disappointing as many wishing to get on the property ladder left in limbo:
