In a timely tourism boost for the Glenfarne area, the Lough McNean Canoe Trail has been selected to go forward.
The project will encompass parts of Leitrim, Cavan, and Fermanagh.
With tourist numbers being threatened by the lack of accommodation the project it is hoped will provide a valuable boost to the tourism and hospitality sector in the area.
Local Councillor Seán McDermott has paid tribute to all the local authorities involved in the project adding that a collective effort was necessary:
