The Dáil has heard calls for the review of the Community Contribution Scheme.
The scheme encourages a joint approach with groups of local residents and landowners for the restoration of public roads including local roads.
Community contributions were previously within the range of 10% to 20%.
Funding, however, has been reduced by the department of transport in recent years.

With the 2024 announcement around the corner, Sligo-Leitrim TD Frank Feighan says he hopes it reflects the importance of the scheme:
