John Mahon has signed a new contract with Sligo Rovers ahead of next season.
It's understood that Mahon has signed a one-year deal, with the option of an extension for 2026.
2024 has been a rough year for the centre-back, after a ruptured achilles in pre-season meant he was ruled out for almost the entirety of the year.
He made two competitive appearances for Rovers last season, coming off the bench in Eamon Deacy Park in the dying stages against Galway United in the penultimate game, before starting against St Patrick's Athletic in the Showgrounds in the final game of the season.
Mahon's signature brings to 13 the number of players under contract for next season.
Speaking to Ocean FM Sport, he says he's ready to put his bad year behind him.
