Leitrim Councillor calls for communications to be available during storms

It's hoped that preventative measures can be introduced in the event of collapse of phone networks during adverse weather conditions.

Concerns were raised at this month's meeting of the Manorhamilton Municipal District that during Storm Éowyn, many were unable to carry out routine phone calls.

Independent Cllr Felim Gurn says easier means of communication are needed going forward.
