A Leitrim Councillor is warning the government that the efforts of the general public in reducing our emission levels could be impacted by allowing more data centres to operate in Ireland.
Councillor James Gilmartin has given a guarded welcome to a report which claims progress is being made in relation to tackling emission levels.
The finding were published by the Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland and states that emissions in transport, electricity and heat fell by 8.3 percent last year.
The Manorhamilton MD Councillor, is warning that the good will of the likes of farmers and other who are genuinely making an effort to reduce emissions will diminish if the Mercusor deal is signed off by the EU and the here government allows more Data centres to be established in this Country
