Second level ASTI members in the north west were among the almost thirty thousand nationally that took to the picket line earlier today.
The reason behind the strike is due to the redevelopment of the leaving cycle programme, which is set to be introduced in September of next year.
The redevelopment of the Leaving Cycle has been met with mixed reviews, with one criticism levelled, it's "one size fits all" plan.
Speaking to Ocean FM news, a member of staff from St. Mary's college in Ballysadare said that "proper procedures need to be put in place" ahead of the introduction.
