There isn’t the fodder available in the north west to move around the country, and a voucher system should be put in place for farmers.
Sligo Chair of the IFA, Michael O’Dowd, shared these thoughts ahead of the National Fodder and Food Security meeting later today, which will be addressing the current fodder crisis.
Mr O’Dowd said that financial support needs to be felt immediately for farmers amid ongoing turbulent weather conditions, and labelled the situation as an emergency.
