North West urged to rethink Christmas plans ahead of storm

A Status Red wind warning will come into effect for the Counties of Donegal, Sligo and Leitrim later tonight.

 

The warning has been issued for seven counties as Storm Darragh prepares to make landfall.

A status orange wind warning has been issued for Munster and Connacht from 8 o'clock this evening, and a similar alert has been issued for the rest of the country from 10pm.

 

While a yellow alert for wind is currently in place for the whole country.

People in red alert counties are being advised to re-think plans for Christmas gatherings tonight.
