It's emerged that over half of the candidates contesting the local elections in the Ocean FM franchise area have failed to respond to an IFA survey.
The survey, which is part of the IFA's ongoing 'Enough is Enough' campaign centered around the association's election manifesto.
The areas of concern are Planning, Residential Zoned Land Tax, Ash Dieback, Connectivity and Environmental Inspections.
6 out of 12 candidates responded in the Manorhamilton electoral area, while there were 3, 4 and 6 respondents in the Sligo-Strandhill, Sligo-Drumclife and Ballymote-Tubbercurry Municipal Districts respectively.
The figure was similarly low in Donegal where just 6 out of the 15 candidates participated.
Despite the low turnout, IFA Sligo branch chairperson, Michael O'Dowd is encouraging farmers and rural voters to use their vote.
