Sligo County Council have given full support in solidarity with Leitrim County Council in relation to a national ban on gold mining.
There have been numerous campaigns within Leitrim in opposition to gold mining in the region.
Sligo Labour Cllr Nessa Cosgrove urged to council to contact the Department of Environment, Climate and Communications, notifying them of their stance.
