There's significant challenges over a proposal to expand Gurteen Health Centre.
That's according to the HSE, who have been facing ongoing pressure to look at improving facilities there.
The footprint of the building itself is said to be biggest stumbling block.
The HSE has further stated that there's no easy solution to facilitating the extra space required on the site but that they are committed to continuing to look at options that may be feasible.
Thousands of patients are currently being treated at Gurteen with staff subjected to seriously cramped conditions.
