A Sligo school is one of 50 private secondary schools being subsidised by the taxpayer by more than €140 million a year.
According to a report from The Irish Times, Sligo Grammar school recorded the biggest year on year fee increase.
It’s understood that the vast bulk of funding goes towards staff salaries.
