Last night's major security alert on the Sligo - Dublin train has led to renewed calls for a dedicated transport policing service.
A man, who had been travelling from Sligo, had a suspected shotgun on board.
He's not alleged to have threatened passengers but it led to teams of armed Gardaí, rushing to the scene at Connolly station - while the station was evacuated and services suspended.
Sligo Leitrim Sinn Fein TD Martin Kenny has described the incident as alarming and further proves the need for the train service to be adequately and consistently policed:
