There's specualation that the Yeats Country Hotel in Rosses Point could be sold for direct provision purposes.
The hotel, which had been used to house Ukrainian refugees for the last couple of years, went on the market late last year at a guide price of seven million euro.
It had been hoped then that the premises would be returned to much needed tourist accommodation for the area.
However, rumours have been circulating locally that while the sale has not been finalised, a bid has been made with a view towards using the accommodation to house refugees.
The property comprises of almost 100 bedrooms and is located right beside the County Sligo Golf Club.
