Surprise has been shared locally following the news that a Leitrim NCT test centre has the second highest fail rate nationally in 2024.
Figures published by the NCT showed that the Carrick-on-Shannon centre had a 10.26% fail rate. Over 79,700 tests took place in the north west last year, with more than half of them failing.
Sinn Fein Manorhamilton Cllr Padraig Fallon highlighted that many people use the test to figure out what their car needs.
