To mark the 40th anniversary of Sligo Rovers first-ever FAI Cup success, team members from the 1983 squad were introduced to the Showgrounds crowd during Saturday night's 3-1 league win v UCD.
Austin O'Callaghan spoke with some of the heroes from 1983.
Contributions from team captain Tony Fagan (pictured), Mick Ferry, Martin McDonnell, Chris Rutherford, Graham Fox, Joanne & Amber Stenson, Gus Gilligan, player-manager Paul Fielding, George Chadda (son of Johnny) - plus MC on the night, and lifelong Rovers fanatic, Tommie Gorman.
Also included is rarely-heard Radio Sligo footage from 1983 (sourced by Aidan Mannion from the Sligo Rovers Heritage Group).
