Tributes are being paid to the Former Taoiseach John Bruton who has died.
He was first elected to the Dail from the Meath constituency in 1969 and served as a TD for 35 years - stepping down in 2004.
In that time, he held many ministries - such as Finance - before becoming leader of Fine Gael in 1990.
He was elected as Taoiseach in 1994.
Dinny McGinley served as TD in the Donegal South-West constituency from 1982 to 2016.
He says John Bruton has many qualities that helped to make the ultimate politician and statesman.
White sitting Leitrim Councillor Enda McGloin previously worked as Fine Gael regional administrator in Meath.
He says Mr Bruton played a part in helping to establish peace on the Island of Ireland.
