Warnings issued that power will not be restored to some parts of the region before February 5th

Around 100 thousand homes and businesses throughout the Country could still be without power next week.

 

Crews from the UK are expected to arrive this week to help with the remaining 246 thousand outages following Storm Éowyn.

 The ESB have described   it as "by far the worst storm" it's ever experienced in terms of customers losing supply and the scale of damage to the network.

Many homes in Sligo, Leitrim and Donegal are now entering into their third day without power.

 

Some households, farms and businesses are preparing to be without electricity until February 5th.

Leitrim Councillor Brendan Barry says the ESB are waiting to full access the damage before they are providing restoration dates to customers.

 

He says multiple faults on several lines will increase the times associated with the repairs
