Funding has been allocated to address issues with the N16 in Leitrim.
The road, which is one of the main routes linking Northern Ireland with the West, has seen some cracks appearing, particularly at the Manorhamilton side of the Rainbow Ballroom in Glenfarne.
It's understood Leitrim County Council will carry out pavement strengthening at the affected area to rectify the problem.
Fine Gael Councillor, Sean McDermott, is hopeful the work can be carried out sooner rather than later.
