One of Sligo Rovers’ most promising young players, Aidan Gabbidon, has signed for Swedish top-flight club Malmö FF.
The former Valley Rovers clubman has played for Rovers’ under 15 and under 17 teams over the past two years and has a number of underage Republic of Ireland international caps.
Gabbidon’s brother Kyle is also part of the Rovers academy, while his sister Jade was the vice-captain of the All-Ireland Sligo LGFA minor team in 2024.
A defender, Gabbidon moves to Sweden with immediate effect, with The Bit O’Red receiving training compensation for the player.
