Added time heartbreak for Leitrim LGFA

Not for the first time in recent years, Leitrim women's gaelic footballers missed out on promotion from Division 4 of the Lidl national football league - as a Limerick goal in the seventh and final minute of added time gave them a dramatic 2-10 to 1-11 semi-final victory at Woodmount in Roscommon on Sunday.

Jonny Garrity's Leitrim looked to be on the verge of victory just seconds earlier when Muireann Devaney's goal deep in added time put them in front for the first time in the match.

But, from the re-start, the match referee allowed one more passage of play and Limerick capitalised by scoring a late late goal at the other end to snatch victory.

Here's how the Ocean FM Sport commentary team of Ray Lannon and Maeve Quinn described the finish.

The win clinches promotion for the Treaty county as well as a league final place against Carlow.

For Leitrim LGFA, it's yet another near miss on the final day of the league.
