EJ Sligo All-Stars pushed men's Superleague leaders Belfast Star all the way in Saturday night's game in Belfast before losing out after three rounds of overtime by a single point, 98 to 97.
Star appeared to be coasting by the half-time recess, at which point they led by 21 points, but, inspired by Chrishon Briggs who bagged 31 on the night, the All-Stars battled back to actually lead at one stage in third quarter - before the sides finished level at 77 points a-piece by the final buzzer.
But, with Frenki Lilaj serving up 24 points and 17 rebounds and Patrick McGaharan and Conor Quinn also delivering big displays on the night, Belfast did just enough to clinch this one - albeit it took three rounds of overtime to eventually separate the teams.
The All-Stars top point scorers on Saturday night were:
Shon Briggs 31pts
Christian Williams 20pts
Tom Child 18pts
Jamie Hayes (Capt) 11pts.
