EJ Sligo All-Stars suffered a 100-94 loss to joint leaders Killester in Sunday's insuremyvan.ie Super League game in Dublin.
The All-Stars appeared out of contention after being 20 points adrift in the fourth and final quarter - but they produced a spirit rally in the closing stages to cut the Killester lead to five points - and might have got closer only for a John Carroll three-pointer attempt clip the rim of the basket with 90 seconds remaining.
The All-Stars had led by 10 points early in the second quarter of Sunday's game - but they lost their way completely for a spell as Killester enjoyed a 20-point turnaround to lead by 10 at the interval (47-37).
They pushed further ahead in Q3 before the All-Stars eventually found their second wind and produced a commendable fightback in Q4.
Kllester remain joint top of the Super League with UCC Blue Demons on 27 points - with the All-Stars in ninth place in the table on 12 points after 10 games.
