EJ Sligo All-Stars suffered an 88-82 loss to Ballincollig of Cork in Saturday's men's Super League game at MTU Arena.
The All-Stars looked to be in a winning position at the end of the third quarter, when they led by nine points (67-58) - but they were unable to hold onto their advantage.
Sligo had enjoyed a National Cup quarter-final victory against the same opposition before Christmas - but on this occasion the Cork side prevailed.
Sligo will return to Cork next Saturday, when they play holders UCC Blue Demons in the semi-finals of the Pat Duffy National Senior Cup at the Neptune Stadium (2:30pm).
