There was disappointment for ATU Sligo in Thursday evening's All-Ireland Freshers 'A' football championship semi-final in Ballinode, as they were edged out by opponents UCD on a final scoreline of 1-9 to 0-10.
Elsewhere, DCU senior football team qualified for next week's Sigerson Cup final thanks to a 0-14 to 0-10 semi-final win over holders Ulster University at Kingspan Breffni in Cavan.
Sligo's Luke Marren and Donegal's Johnny McGroddy each contributed four points of DCU's tally in that win.
The Sigerson Cup final between DCU and UCD will be played at the Connacht GAA Centre of Excellence in Bekan next weekend.
