ATU Sligo suffered a 2-17 to 1-7 defeat to holders Ulster University in their opening game of the 2025 Sigerson Cup, played in Ballinode.
The game was sole Tuesday fixture to survive the inclement weather - and the holders coped better with the wintry conditions to build up a 1-7 to 0-2 interval lead.
Despite a fine second-half goal from ATU's Conor Johnstone, Ulster University were able to keep their opponents at arms length as they ran out 13-point winners.
