ATU Sligo's Freshers gaelic football team are through to the semi-finals of their intervarsities team after a 0-6 to 0-5 quarter-final victory over Queen's of Belfast on Thursday night in Ballinode.
Played in atrocious weather conditions, ATU captain Oisín Keaney kicked the winning score in the dying moments, shortly before goalkeeper Kyle Davey was called upon to save a Queen's penalty in the closing seconds of the match.
The win means ATU Sligo progress to the last four of the Freshers Championship, which means possible meetings against UCD, Ulster University and DCU.
The semi-finals will be played next Thursday.
