Dearbhla Rooney will return to a hero’s welcome in Manorhamilton this evening.
The youngster was presented with her bantamweight silver medal at the European Youth Championships in Italy yesterday.
And the Sean McDermott Boxing Club will host a homecoming event in the Bee Park Centre from 9pm this evening to honour her achievement.
Prior to that, members of the local sporting clubs will assemble at the GAA pitch in Boggaun at 8.30pm, and the Mullies youngster will be brought in to Manorhamilton in a cavalcade before making her way to the Bee Park.

Sligo’s Dean Clancy also claimed a silver medal at the championships for the second year in a row yesterday, and he will return to a special homecoming in Sligo tomorrow evening.
