There was bitter disappointment for Boyle in Sunday's Roscommon senior football final at Dr Hyde Park as they were edged out by Strokestown on a final scoreline of 0-12 to 0-11.
Cian Smith's side had reached their first senior final in 95 years while opponents Strokestown were seeking their first Roscommon championship since 2002.
Tony Lavin’s point in the fifth minute of injury time secured a dramatic victory for Strokestown.
The teams had been level on six different occasions over the course of the hour in a final which never quite caught fire.
