Carbury begin Sligo-Leitrim title defence with 9-0 win

Carbury FC sent out an ominous signal to their title rivals on the opening Sunday of the new Sligo-Leitrim Southern Hotel Super League season with a 9-0 hammering of Manorhamilton Rangers at Ray MacSharry Park in Cranmore.

Jason Lyons scored four with Gareth Kelly netting a hat-trick with Mamoud Mansar and Mark McGoldrick also on the scoresheet.

Opponents Manor Rangers, who have just appointed David Cummins as their new manager for the season ahead, had no answer to the champions firepower.

Carbury FC are bidding to win a record-equalling sixth Super League title in a row and, on this early evidence, they'll take some stopping.
