Sligo-Leitrim Southern Hotel Super League holders Carbury FC won the season-opening Champions Cup final at Ray MacSharry Park in Cranmore on Saturday evening with a 4-0 win over last season's Premier League winners Calry Bohs.
A hat-trick from Jason Lyons along with an excellent Niall Brennan finish gave Carbury a comprehensive win against a Calry team missing several regulars with eight teenagers in Damien Flynn's starting 11.
The fixture, contested by the previous year's Super League and Premier League champions, traditionally lifts the curtain on the new junior soccer season.
Carbury boss John Feeney spoke to Ocean FM Sport's Donal Ryan after the win.
Calry Bohs manager Damien Flynn was encouraged by what he saw from his young team despite the result.
