Both Leitrim and Sligo suffered Connacht LGFA football championship losses on Sunday their respective provincial football championship games on Sunday.
Holders Leitrim, who had started their title defence with a spirited win over Roscommon last weekend, were well beaten in Dromod by new Connacht entrants Clare, on a final scoreline of 1-17 to 1-4.
A young developing Sligo team fared little better at Dr Hyde Park as they were overwhelmed by Roscommon on a final scoreline of 4-17 to 3-3.
This year's Connacht Intermediate Championship is being played on a round-robin basis with the top two counties qualifying for the Connacht final.
