Connacht Motor Club postpones Open Day as mark of respect for Craig Breen

Irish rally driver Craig Breen has died following an accident during a pre-test event in Croatia.

His team, Hyundai Motorsport, confirmed the news in a statement on Thursday afternoon.

Breen's co-driver, James Fulton, was unhurt in the incident which occurred shortly after 11am Irish time.

Breen, who was 33 and a native of Waterford, was generally regarded as Ireland's top rally driver - and was a competitor in the World Rally Championship.

As a mark of of respect, Connacht Motor Club has postponed it’s planned Family Open Day event at the Sligo Park Hotel this Sunday (April 16th), until a later date.
