County Sligo golfer Thomas Finnegan through to British Open qualifier

County Sligo golfer Thomas Finnegan has ensured his place at an Open Championship qualifier at the end of June.

Finnegan, who shot a round of 66 at a preliminary qualifying tournament at Panmure in Scotland is one of 15 golfers that will vie for a minimum of 12 places at the major.

This year's Open Championship, which will be the 150th edition of competition will take place at St. Andrew's Old Course from July 14th to 17th.
