Sligo’s Dean Clancy is safely through to the flyweight quarter-finals at the European Youth Championships in Italy.
The youngster was a comprehensive winner against Turkish boxer Murat Ugurlu in this afternoon’s second round tie, after beating a Belarussian in yesterday’s first round.
Manorhamilton’s Dearbhla Rooney is through to the women’s bantamweight quarter-finals as well.
She defeated a Polish opponent yesterday evening and will be back in action on Sunday.
