Sligo jockey Derek Fox on board horse 'Ahoy Senor' produced a perfect ride to win the 2.55 Mildmay Novices' Chase at the Aintree Festival on Friday afternoon.
Emmet Place native Fox was part of a strong field. However, a strong performance from start to finish propelled him and 'Ahoy Senor', trained by Lucinda Russell to victory.
Friday afternoon also sees Fox race in the 4.40 Sefton Novices' Hurdle with 'Haute Estime'.
A Grand National winner in 2017, Fox will look to reclaim the title on Saturday evening with 'Mighty Thunder'.
