Athlone Town footballers and Manorhamilton native Muireann Devaney, along with Sligo Rovers teenager striker and Donegal native Emma Doherty have both been shortlisted for the women's SSE Airtricity League Young Player of the Year award.
Devaney, who's preparing for Sunday's FAI Cup final at Tallaght Stadium against Shelbourne, has been an impressive performer for Athlone this season which them in contention for the title right up until the final Saturday of the season last weekend.
They beat Bohemians 2-1 at Dalymount Park to finish runners-up behind back-to-back champions Shelbourne.
Doherty was named Sligo Rovers Young Player of the season last weekend, and was the club's top scorer in the league with 11 goals.
She's been capped recently at Ireland under-19 level and has also signed a long-term contract with the club as part of the Scholarship partnership programme with ATU Sligo.
There was further good news for Sligo Rovers when the nominations were published on Wednesday, as head coach Steve Feeney was shortlisted for Manager of the Year after guiding the club to an eighth-place finish in their inaugural season in the SSE Airtricity Women's National League.
The awards winners will be announced on November 24th.
