Donegal were knocked out of the TG4 All-Ireland senior football championship for 2024 on Sunday after going down to Waterford in their concluding Group 2 game at Walsh Park in Dungarvan, on a final scoreline of 1-10 to 0-7.
Donegal just needed to avoid defeat to join Group 2 winners Kerry in the All-Ireland quarter-finals - but they were second best on the date against a rejuvenated Deise team who were deserved six-point winners at the finish.
It's a result which sees Kerry finish top of Group 2 with three poitns, Waterford second with two points - and Donegal at the bottom with
John McNulty's Donegal now face a relegation play-off in the coming weeks, with the bottom for teams from the group stages battling to preserve their senior championship status for next year.
