Donegal's run in Division 1 of the Lidl national football league came to an end on Saturday when they were beaten by an impressive Galway time by 1-12 to 1-5 in their semi-final, played at Glennon Pearse Park in Longford.
Maxi Curran's side welcomed back their talented forward to Geraldine McLaughlin to the attack after her recent injury lay-off - but it was Galway's forward line which did the bulk of the damage in this game.
The tribeswomen established a 0-9 to 1-1 half-time lead, with Donegal's goal coming from a Niamh Hegarty penalty.
While Donegal battled gamely in the second-half, Galway's lead was rarely troubled - and the were comfortable winners at the full-time whistle.
