Donegal to 'wait and see' after Tyrone win

Donegal followed up a 16-point beating of Armagh last Wednesday with a 0-15 to 1-10 victory over Tyrone at Healy Park in Omagh on Sunday in their second Section A match of the Dr McKenna Cup.

Maximum points for Donegal in Section A, but a place in the semi-finals of the competition isn't certain yet.

Finbarr Roarty was just 17 when he played against Armagh last Wednesday night - a day before his 18th birthday, bringing into question the Naomh Conaill teenager’s eligibility.

A possible breach of rule could see Donegal sanctioned.

“I have no idea, being honest with you,” McGuinness told reporters after the Tyrone game on Sunday.

“I haven’t had any correspondence. Maybe the county board have, but I haven’t. We are just going to have to wait and see.

It's understood Ulster GAA officials were meeting on Sunday after the Omagh game to deliberate on what action (if any) to take on the Donegal-Armagh fixture.

As things stand, Donegal and Derry have secured top spots in Sections A & B respectively, with Fermanagh and Monaghan due to play each other in mid-week to determine who tops Section C.
