Donegal-Tyrone All-Ireland clash goes behind GAAGO paywall

Donegal's opening group match against Ulster rivals Tyrone in the All-Ireland Sam Maguire Cup on Saturday week will be livestreamed on the GAA's online subscription service, GAAGO.

The Group 3 match has been fixed for Saturday, May 25th, in MacCumhaill Park, Ballybofey, at 7:15pm - and will form part of a GAAGO double-bill with the the Dublin-Roscommon Group 2 fixture at Croke Park.

The GAA has attracted some criticism recently for its decision to put some high profile games behind a paywall - and the two aforementioned football games fit in that category.

Association President Jarlath Burns made robust defence of the online streaming service this week - and said that while he understood some people's frustration with the Cork-Limerick Munster hurling championship game going behind a paywall last weekend, he stressed the commercial reality was that GAAGO had to include some big games to make the subscription (€69 per year) attractive.
