Buncrana's rising teenage star Emma Doherty has signed for the Sligo Rovers senior women's team for their inaugural Women's National League season.
The 17-year-old Leaving Cert student played with the Donegal Women's team in the FAI under-17 natioal league last season - and scored eight goals in a single league fixture against Bohemians last July.
She also earned an international call-up to the Republic of Ireland under-19 squad.
Her move to Rovers has been made easier by the fact that there are so many other players from Donegal there who she can travel with.
Doherty told sligorovers.com that she can't wait for the season to start.
“I love training so far. I’m really loving it. It’s at a very good standard. Steve knows his stuff and I’m really enjoying it so far. I’m really excited for the season to start. I can’t wait now to get going.”
