There was agony for Easkey hurlers in Saturday's All-Ireland junior club hurling semi-final in Ballinasloe as St Catherines (Cork) emerged victors by a single point, on a final scoreline of 0-12 to 0-11.
The Sligo and Connacht champions were bidding to make the All-Ireland final for a second year in a row - but in closely contested semi-final at Duggan Park, the Sea Blues came up just short.
Easkey led by a point at half-time and produced a spirted display throughout against their more vaunted Munster opponents - but they will feel they left scoring opportunities after them in this game.
