Gavin Dykes has been appointed as the new assistant manager of Finn Harps.
Following the departure of Paul Hegarty, Finn Harps manager Ollie Horgan was on the look out for a new assistant and contacted an old friend and colleague.
Dykes, who previously managed the Finn Park outfit in 2001 and has also held the assistant's role on three separate occasions, joins the club ahead of the new SSE Airtricity League season.
Sligo Town native Dykes enjoyed a three year spell as a Harps player in the late nineties joins from NIFL Premiership side Warrenpoint Town where he also served as assistant manager.
Speaking about his appointment on Sunday's Rovers Review ahead of the new season, Dykes told Austin O'Callaghan: "Ollie Horgan is a very hard man to turn down. It came as a bit of a surprise to me, I was quite happy doing what I was doing at Warrenpoint. It's going to be a challenge but I'm looking forward to it."
Finn Harps begin their 2022 SSE Airtricity League campaign at home to Drogheda United on Friday, February 18th at 8:00pm.
