There was fresh disappointment for Sligo professional boxer Aaron Gethins overnight with the news that his upcoming welterweight bout in Spain on January 23rd has been postponed.
The city of Murcia in south-eastern Spain, which was hosting the Celtic Clash 11 fight-night, has just gone back into Covid lockdown, so the event has been pulled.
Gethins, who's won his first four pro bouts to date, hasn't fought since last February - and repeated attempts to get a fight in intervening months had been hampered by a combination of the pandemic and fighter withdrawals.
