Goals from Patrick McBrearty and Ryan McHugh propelled Donegal to victory over Kildare in Division One of the Allianz National Football League at Mac Cumhaill Park in Ballybofey.
The victory ensures two valuable points for Declan Bonner's charges after last week's collapse to Mayo at Markievicz Park.
However, injuries to key players team captain Michael Murphy and Jason McGee will be of concern to the Tír Chonaill Bainisteoir.
Donegal's two goals came in the opening half with Kilclar clubmen McBrearty and McHugh both finding the back of Kildare netminder Aaron O'Neill's net. Kildare, to their credit fought back with the influential Jimmy Hyland once again catching the eye at corner-forward helping himself to a goal and five points (one from a free, one from a mark).
The second half was a cagey,low-scoring one with Michael Langan (two) and Shane O'Donnell securing the win late on for the home side.
Donegal will have time to assess the injuries to Murphy and McGee as they are next in action on Sunday, February 20th away to Kerry in Fitzgerald Stadium in Killarney.
