Co Sligo golfer Serryth Heavey is through to Friday afternoon's final of the Irish Seniors Men's Close Championship at Strandhill Golf Club in Sligo, following a 4&3 semi-final win over Enniscrone's Derek Basquill.
In the final, Heavey will take on former West of Ireland winner Joe Lyons (Galway), who beat Tramore's Patrick Madigan by one hole in Friday morning's second semi-final.
Heavy and Lyons came through two rounds of strokeplay on Tuesday and Wednesday, followed by Thursday's weather-interrupted matchplay stages to contest the final day's action.
In the women's event, defending champion Deidre Smith (Co Louth) was beaten in her semi-final by Laura Webb from Royal Portrush 5&3.
Webb will face Tracey Eakin from Dooks Golf Club (Kerry) in the afternoon decider.
