There were four local surfers competing at the 2022 ISA World Surfing Games in Huntington Beach in California last week.

Sligo's Gearoid McDaid, the Rossnowlagh duo of Una Britton and Maia Monaghan, and Iarom Madden from Donegal Bay Board Riders were part of six-strong competition at the event, which was a key qualifier towards the 204 Paris Olympics.

None of the Irish competitors featured in the medals or Olympic qualifying places.

McDaid finished 64th overall in the men's individual competition with Madden 91st.
